Coffee Chemistry Cafe @ Sunway Giza

I’ve heard/read reviews on this café but didn’t have a chance to visit it until yesterday. Since some of my colleagues will be on leave on the last working day in the year of 2011, a few of us decided to have dinner before the weekend.

This café shouldn’t be too difficult to be spotted; it’s located next to Full House, above Movida. There’s a staircase on the left leading up to the café. From the outside, it is just another handphone & accessories shop and the café is located in the inner part of the shop. Since the shop both manages direct sales and restaurant at the same time, there aren’t many tables around inside the shop. However, there is a smoking section (I assume it is because it’s located at the balcony area on the outside) for those who prefer to dine in surrounded by a more lively environment.

Clean and cozy - these are the words that I would use to describe the café. Everything is in black & white, with the smoothing music played in the background and the cooling environment, it’s not too hard for one to fall asleep.

There were 7 of us, but only 3 different types of main course were ordered. We opted for our food from the set dinner according to our own preferences. Beef bacon pasta carbonara, chicken pasta carbonara (specially requested) and al-funghi mushroom olio were picked along with drinks such as iced black coffee, Dilmah specialty hot tea drinks (flavours: peach, caramel, blackcurrant, lychee etc).

Coffee Chemistry Café also has an offer for those who order their lunch/dinner set. Mushroom soup can be added on at RM4.95, a 50% discount from its original price. Needless to say, all of us ordered the soup. I would say it’s worth it as the soup is thick and filled with mushroom bits.

I was satisfied with the food but a better service would have made this dining experience even more perfect. I saw 3 waiters at the café, but only one of them served us throughout the entire night. Another waiter was performing his duties at the bar area but another was totally MIA. Since there was only one person attending to my colleagues and I (we were the only group of customers), I thought he would be at least more attentive in serving us, such as taking away empty bowls.

All in all, this café is worth visiting when you're at Sunway Giza mall.

可爱的手工艺品永远讨人欢心，尤其是女生。这点我很赞同，而且也是我弱点之一，因为我总会被任何的可爱物品吸引着。

从朋友那儿听说有间餐馆的布置很可爱，里面也有售卖手工艺品，所以就约了男友一同去了Poco Zakka & Kitchen 享用午餐。

距离餐馆不远时，我就已经认出是哪间了，因为餐馆外的布置和装饰都带有着浓浓的 “家”的味道，的确很有亲切感。踏入店内，里面的布置比外面更美和精致。天空蓝的墙壁和桌椅，还有设在角落边的摆设，给我一种很舒服的感觉，仿佛在呼唤着我把任何烦恼暂时忘掉，只专注的享受眼前的美食和手工艺品等等。这里的手工艺品是让人购买的哦！

店内售卖的食物主要是日本餐。男友点了Chicken Katsu Curry Rice；咖哩的辣味和甜味恰恰好，炸的香脆的鸡肉条沾上咖哩酱很令人开胃。我则点了一份甜点和一杯饮料，也就是巧克力熔岩蛋糕与香草冰淇淋和苹果格雷伯爵茶。蛋糕里那浓郁微苦的巧克力配上香草冰淇淋，可以说是完美情人。茶中带有苹果味，喝了很清爽！

一级棒的经验！

Took me an hour plus just to upload these pictures ._."

Wanted to blog but I've lost my mood to do so.. so I'm just going to copy and paste what I've written in Chinese a few days ago. Short description - 399 words to be exact.

一直以来都很想吃巴厘餐但都没有机会，皇天不负有心人，我终于找到了一间名为 The Uma 的店来沵补我未能跟随男友去巴厘岛一起吃喝玩乐的遗憾。

一踏进店内，里面带有浓浓巴厘风情味的布置，加上抒情音乐和温和的灯光下，让我感觉到自己身置在巴厘岛的感觉。

点好后，饮料和食物很快的就上桌了！先谈谈饮料，我叫的 Es Timun Segar (RM7) 是由三种材料配成的: 黄瓜，柠檬和薄荷。很清凉！很清爽！不但如此，饮料中还含有很多的黄瓜丝。男友则叫了Jus Apokat (RM9)。我也尝试了几口，浓浓的口感，虽然这杯果汁含有巧克力酱作为点娺，但还是可以喝出那鳄梨的甜味。

至于 Assam Pork Satay (RM14)，烤得刚刚好，带有点酸味的烤猪肉配上那甜辣酱，果真是盘名副其实的开胃菜。正餐是 Pesan Be Tuna (RM24)。腌上了调味料的金枪鱼包在香蕉叶烤了后很引诱人，再加上附有的配菜；干炒长豆，香脆马铃薯丝，炒空心菜，辣椒油鸡肉丝，最后配上白饭及两种不同的酱料，看了都令人食指大动。

环境优美，食物美味，价格公道！又怎能不再来呢？

十一月的雨

十一月的雨，好像比十月的雨来得更早，下得越凶。

十一月的天气，变化莫测，也使得我的心情每天都不一样。

十一月的我，已经迫不急待的等待明年一月的到来。

已经一阵子没来部落格发牢骚了，还有读者吗?

有好多东西要说但不知从哪儿说起；工作吗？感情吗？又或者我那纽西兰之旅？

就先从手机说起吧！不知从哪时就想要买一部智能手机；一部让我可以玩玩游戏消遣时间，上上网，读一读 tweets，查一查地图的手机。说到现在，都还没买。要说钱不够又好像不太对；钱是有的，只是我不舍得去花。踏入社会做工不到一年就有了五位数的存款，为了就是让我去纽西兰用的。渐渐的，目标越离我越越远了，有了那么多的东西要供 - 保险，车，贷学金，房租，汽油，电话/上网费等等，每天晚上临睡前都会问自己一个问题 - 我还可以去吗？去了，那又有谁可以帮我还清债务啊？妈妈一定不赞同，因为她认为我自己的债自己还。这点，我认同。还了债，钱又不够用了。

觉得我现在有点变得像我那把金钱看得很很很很重要的外婆一样。要是不去纽西兰，我大概就可以立刻买部手机了。但令一个我又会暗地里说服自己我其实并不是一定要买一部新的，至少，我已经有了一部手机。

比起其他女生来说，我应该不太算是个女生吧。就要快二十三岁了都还不会化妆，连最基本的技巧都不会，更不用说打扮得飘飘亮亮出街去了，衣服穿了都是循环了由循环的。正如我所说的，钱是有的，只是我不舍得去花。又或许从小到大，已经习惯了这种生活。爸妈吃喝穿着一切简单，我们也是。现在做工了，想花点钱带爸妈去吃些好吃的，他们都会嫌贵。看着身边的朋友，个个化妆出街，每个星期都至少会买一件新衣，餐餐吃非常好料；让我每次都会问同样一个问题 - 钱，真的那么容易赚吗？要不，他们花的都是父母的钱咯。

衣服不便宜，护肤品不便宜，化妆品更是贵到离谱，名牌东西更不用说了。如果我有任何名牌包包或衣服，可以很肯定的跟你说，那不是我买的。这些全部都得谢谢我那很疼我的姑姑了。

工作上，唉，那把火已经灭了。一年前的我是多么的勤劳，天真地认为只要我勤劳一定会有人看到及肯定我的实力。事实并非那么简单，勤劳反而给人投诉，冤枉冤枉！所以呢，从那天起，稍微不适，请病假算了，免得又有人搬弄是非或说我找理由不要工作。我，可以放长假吗？

十一月一日，我们在一起的第二十个月。有好有坏，好像坏的多点，惭愧惭愧。谢谢你的包容，我爱你！希望可以更你度过更多的情人节及我俩的生日 *抱抱*

So I've been coming home late everyday around 8pm, and today was the latest I left my office, at 9+pm and I was the last one.

Sucks to have unfairness at work but nothing can be done. Even suckier when you have to work with colleagues that live far across the globe (maybe not that far, 6 hours difference only). What if they come in to the office at 10am? It's 4pm here ._.

If only the king wasn't so hot tempered that he would scold us IF his car was damaged when we're the ones driving. It's already scary enough not to sit on the driver's seat seeing how the sis was yelled at. If only the king would tell us "It's alright if the car is damaged but most importantly you're alright", then perhaps I could have become slightly braver when it comes to driving alone to KL city or places which I'm not familiar with. But if I was brave enough, the little and dying car is not suitable for this mission.

If I had a lousy job but I know I would have delicious home cooked food waiting for me at home and I could rant to my family members about what happened at work daily, or to come home without having to be nagged at for some ridiculous reasons, then perhaps I won't have to work so hard everyday and try to leave office at 5pm sharp so I could find a parking spot in the always-out-of-parking-spots area and buy my dinner.

If only I had money.

Veet Suprem' Essence Wax Strips & Hair Removal Cream Review

These products were delivered to me but since they arrived quite late so I thought they would "disappear" mysteriously like some body shower products that I was supposed to review quite some time ago ._."

When I first saw the packaging, I was surprised because I thought those products will just be delivered in some normal packaging. But this one came in a box, nicely wrapped in ribbon! Let's see what's inside k?

The box didn't feel neither heavy nor light so I couldn't really guess what's inside until I got home. Upon opening the box, these items greeted me at first sight.

Inside the box there were a box of wax strips (18 strips + 4 perfect finish wipes), a box of hair removal cream, body shower accessories inclusive of body lily, loofah sponge and last but not least, a rose-scented miniature candle.

Picture above shows a close-up shot of those 2 main products. As you can see, Veet Suprem' Essence is a new product introduced to the market lately and unlike any other products, these ones come with velvet rose fragrance and essential oils.

The tube of hair removal cream came with plastic bladeless razor with rubber at both ends. After reading the instructions on the box, it was time to give this cream a try to test its effectiveness. Unsure of whether to wet my leg or not, I decided to just apply the cream onto one small area on my leg for the first time.

At first smell (yes it's smell), this product didn't have the usual weird smell that other products do, at least not strong and obvious enough to be smelled upon taking off the tube cap. During the 3-minute obligatory waiting period (or maximum 6 minutes for stubborn/thick hair), I decided to apply those cream on a piece of paper to have a better smell of the cream. True enough, the unpleasant cream smell still present.

Anyway, the smell of the cream isn't the main point here but its effectiveness is. 3 minutes gone and it was time to remove the cream. As I've experienced having red spots on my leg after using the plastic razor before this, I decided to forgo the use of bladeless razor to remove the cream but I used a dry tissue instead. A first wipe clearly shown that my hairs were removed together with the cream and of course, to remove those cream completely, one needs to wipe a few times and perhaps end the process by washing off the cream with water.

For the wax strips, I only tried them on the following day. There are a total of 9 strips inside the box, in which each of them will become 2 separate strips after peeling off.

For your information, below are the 5 steps for the usage of wax strips as written on the box:

#1 Rub the wax strip between your hands to warm the wax.

#2 Holding the EasyGrip tab, slowly peel the strips apart.

#3 Apply the strip with the EasyGrib tab towards the ankle and rub the strip repeatedly in the direction of hair growth.

#4 Holding the EasyGrip tab,pull the strip back on itself very quickly and in 1 swift motion, keeping the swift as close to the skin as possible. Hold the skin taut to avoid distortion.

#5 After waxing, remove any excess wax with a Perfect Finish wipe that contains essential oils.

Again, I wasn't that daring enough to put on those strips on both my whole leg so I only experimented with one strip (which actually covered quite a large area also!). Started off by rubbing the wax strips with both hands for about 30s and then peel them apart and put on my leg. Unlike the cream, it's not stated on the box that how long those stripes should be put on. However, it says "you can re-use each strip until it loses its stickiness". With those lines, I supposed I shouldn't leave those strips on my leg for a long period so I took them off approximately 1 minute later.

And oh god, the removing process did hurt a lot, most probably caused by the stickiness of the strips. It's well understood that the faster you remove the strip the more effective it will be but to me, the stickiness didn't even allow me to remove the strips as quickly as I could without causing a lot of pain. I couldn't take the pain, and I already saw the area covered by strips were starting to show red spots so I took them off gently.

See those hairs? Well I guess the strips were proven to be effective too (with pain though) on first attempt. My leg was still sticky with the wax residues so I used the Perfect Finish wipes. FYI, I used up 2 wipes just to removed all the residues on my leg for a really small area (~ 12cmx10cm). Reminder: Do not ever use your bare hands trying to wash off the waxed area with water because it will not work at all but causing your hands to be sticky as well (one would feel exactly the same when he/she washes off UHU glue off the hands).

If one were to put on all these wax strips on both legs, then she will definitely need more of those wipes with essential oils. 4 wipes are definitely not enough for complete removal of wax residues. Also, these wax strips are designed for use on legs, arms, underarms and bikini line but with my unforgettable and painful experience I wouldn't recommend you to use them on those areas :|

In conclusion, although these products were effective to me but I wouldn't use them frequently because I don't think my job requires me to do so anyway. Even if I had to, I would just opt for the simplest way, that is to shave.

Gong Cha 貢茶 @ The Gardens Mall

I've been reading so much about Chatime on twitter and it seems like everyone's addicted to the bubble tea beverages now. Then, I heard about Gong Cha from Jason Lioh.

A short introduction on these two; both are originated from Taiwan, with Chatime being founded in 2005 while Gong Cha in 2006. Since I was at MidValley/The Gardens for a movie screening last night, I decided to take this opportunity to try the bubble tea from both franchise. Let's start with Gong Cha first aight?

It wasn't easy for me to locate the outlet itself since I had no idea where it was in the first place. Ah yes, the floor directory did help me out. FYI, you can see Gong Cha if you're coming up from the escalator from first floor. My friend and I took a different route and we arrived from the opposite direction; I spotted the seating area for Gong Cha first in front of Ying Ker Lou restaurant and I thought it was slightly confusing because one can only see the outlet itself if they walked further away heading towards the escalators.

As mentioned earlier on, the seating area is located away from the store itself. There're only about 4/5 tables if I remembered correctly. Shouldn't be a problem to find a seat because everyone goes to Chatime instead IMO.

I initially wanted to order the winter melon milk tea with white pearls but unfortunately they ran out of white pearls at that time so I opted for the Gong Cha signature milk winter melon tea. I really wanted to try the white pearls though :( As the name implies, white pearls are white in colour (more like transparent maybe). From what I've read online, these white pearls are low in calories/carbs (perfect for health freaks) and are slightly harder to be chewed on.

For extra add-ons, it's RM1 for pearl, coconut jelly, herbal jelly, ai-yu jelly and basil seeds; RM1.50 for white pearls and last but not least, RM2 for special foam.

Also, at Gong Cha, you can ask for your drinks to be prepared according to you preferred sugar/ice level with no extra charge.

To drink Gong Cha, here are the three different ways to enjoy your drinks!

#1 Milk moustache - without stirring, sip the tea from top layer of milk foam followed by the more complex flavours of the tea.

#2 Tea off - without stirring, sip the tea from the bottom with a straw to savour the freshness and complexity of the tea.

#3 All in one - Stir both layers together and drink up!

How did my winter melon tea taste like? I loved it very much! The fresh milk foam blended well with the tea and its sweetness was exactly how I wanted it to be.

When I first read about this news, I was not at home and only managed to read one of her blog entries specifically written to the victim on iPhone but I gave up reading after a few minutes. Why? Black background with words in striking blue colour. Colour combination failed. Not to mention the font size is so small. On an unrelated note, her blog background is Domokun (Damn angry! My favourite Domokun could be hated by her haters too for her violent acts).

When I got home, I wanted to re-read her blog again. Checked back the link my friend shared on web and her blog was deleted! (Oh noes!) A quick cache search led me to her deleted blog. (Internet is everyone's best friend now). Oh my, she does swear a lot. Like, a lot.

I’m a Pirate, Take Me To Stranger Tides!

What can one possibly gain by becoming a pirate?

Here's my say.

The best 3 things being a pirate, as told by yours truly, from a girl's perspective.

#1 I can eat and drink anywhere, anytime like a guy!

What's the most important thing being a girl? Her image. Be it how she looks like when she's walking, sleeping, eating, drinking, yawning, and basically any kinds of actions you can relate to in everyday life.

Table manners for pirates? Nahhh.

If I were a pirate, I'd take any treasure I possess to a pirate-friendly port and spend it all on liquor, food and women without being constantly told that I should watch out for my diet, eat like a girl etc. Eat, drink and enjoy like a pirate, that's what I like.

#2 Gold bars/coins and treasures!

I would self label myself as the stupidest pirate on Earth if I told you I'm not interested in gold bars/coins and treasures. Come on, if I have no interests on them, why would I risk my life to live on the sea when I could happily marry my prince charming aight?

Tell me you have no interests in them and I'll slap you!

#3 I can walk around publicly with a parrot standing on my shoulder!

Ah yes, pirates do keep parrots as pets in those days. Nowadays we don't get to see people walking around on the street with their pets; unless your pet is the common ones such as dogs? Tell me, how often do you see a person walking around with their pet snakes/crocodiles etc?

No I don't want a dog as pet. Parrot please.

With all that said, now all I want is a pair of movie passes to the premiere screening of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. *prays*

La Gomera Spanish Restaurant @ NEO Damansara

It's safe to say this blog entry is exactly one week overdue. Was procrastinating before this when I had free time so here you go :)

Ever since my office relocated to PJ Trade Center, the choices of food that we can have reduce significantly as well (I'm referring to PJTC building itself, not the Damansara Perdana area). For your information, there is a food court which comprises of 5/6 stalls. Believe it or not, I've only eaten the food from 2 particular stalls; one which sells Chinese style of mixed rice/noodles and the other is a Malay food stall which offers different varieties of fried rice/noodles. Call me a picky eater or whatever but I can't eat any of those spicy Malay/Indian food. Of course, when there is a special occasion that requires a celebration, colleagues and I would go to Ecoba or The Canteen.

So anyways, last Thursday, my colleague told me about this place called La Gomera which is located nearby our office and without much hesitation, the four of us went there for lunch.

This Spanish restaurant is quite hidden IMO. If you're coming from LDP, turn left into the junction heading to Damansara Perdana, then turn left again at the first traffic light and the building will be on your left. Not sure if there is a different entrance into this area called Neo Damansara though.

First impression: cosy, quiet environment and could be a really nice place to have afternoon tea. Currently, La Gomera is having a lunch promotion at RM10.00 only (RM11.00 inclusive of tax). By paying RM10, you get to choose soup (vegetable/mushroom) or salad as your starter, one main course and one drink (tea/coffee/iced lemon tea/orange cordial).

Once we made our orders, we had to take our own soup and salad. One colleague opted for salad, while the rest had soup. My mushroom soup tasted a bit funny actually, it was sour. Then again, I didn't have diarrhea the next day so I guess the soup's safe to be consumed. On the other hand, I didn't quite like the vegetables soup; diluted, weird combination of veges. Maybe it's just me 'cos I don't eat most of the veges in the soup :|

Main course ordered (from top to bottom): lamb stew, grilled chicken, fish and chips, braised chicken. Well, there's nothing spectacular about the main course. You should be familiar with the first 3 dishes as they are rather common in most restaurants. My order, braised chicken, was quite unique. It looked reddish and really spicy in the picture but trust me, it was no where near to be classified as omg-it's-so-hot-till-my-tongue-is-burning stage. Portion/presentation wise - bigger plate makes the portion of food seemed little. But yeah, we all went back to office as satisfied customers.

Hennessy Artistry ‘The Global Art of Mixing’ will be kick-starting its 2011 series in Penang at Voodoo, Upper Penang Road on 28th April, followed by the second event happening in The Opera, Sunway Pyramid two days later on April 30.

It Wasn't Easy.

Nobody told me that the subject love is a tough one. No one did.

I've seen it a lot of times on the TV; a couple would go through lots and lots of arguments before one party asks for a break up, then the other would be so upset while there'll be a third party comforting the broken-hearted one all the time. Each time, I would be cursing silently in my heart that the one that got dumped should just go to someone that appreciates him/her. Sounds familiar to you? Dramas do happen in real life, and they are much more tormenting that one would live in fear, wishing that everything is a dream. A bad bad dream.

I've been crying almost every day since the day you asked for a break up. Everything was exactly the same the next day; my laptop, the untouched magazines on my desk, my domokun and kuma-kuma still lie next to me when I opened my eyes - except for the fact that I'm single again, as you said you no longer have feelings for me. Till today, your words are still ringing in my ears every single moment. I was like a walking zombie in the office - swollen eyes, red nose, fku; I don't bite, that's all. If there was one zombie that would be crying, that would be me.

It's so godamn true that when the guy asks for a break up, he usually means it. Which is why I never contacted you despite that there were a few times I subconsciously messaged you telling you my whereabouts and that I missed you. Then it struck me real hard that you were no longer my bully, resulting in more and more drafts were piling up in my phone. I slapped myself hard in the face, I asked people to pinch me, hoping that I would be awaken from this nightmare, that all these crying and unsent messages were just temporary. Somewhat somehow, I accepted the fact that you've completely walked out from my life and I was left alone struggling to move forward.

2 weeks, or maybe more, that I've purposely made myself busy with work so that I wouldn't have to come home early and have nothing else to do. At the end, I fell sick. It was so bad that I couldn't smile genuinely in front of our mutual friends or colleagues. After all, you left me and that last thing I want is to have people sympathize me. I dined out with my friend, I started going for badminton on a weekly basis, and I worked, worked and worked. Just to forget you.

Days passed, you messaged me with a content that made me even more heartbroken; "I asked for a break up because I I felt like I'm using you all this while". My first thought was that you didn't love me all the time, your promises, your hugs and your kisses were all fake. I hated you at one point but I still believed that you said that because you were confused with your own feelings. We've had been doing so many things together and going around places that you forgot why we were doing all these altogether in the first place.

Workload was getting heavier and my eyesights were (are still) deteriorating. I wanted to resign but I knew if I had done that just because I felt like doing so, I would be screwed upside down by my parents, and continuous nagging from the grandmother. Saw mom the very first time a week later all these unhappy events took place and she told me to take this as a lesson. What lesson? Lesson that I shouldn't even get a boyfriend in the first place? All I needed from her was a hug. It didn't matter whether it was a long or quick hug, but a hug will do just fine.

I prayed that you would come back to me. My prayers were answered. You wanted me back. But I'm not sure what or why do you want me back anymore. I thought I would be happy and said yes to you immediately but I didn't. What if you asked for a break up again?

We both know the main reason of us breaking up, that was also the reason why I let you plan the trip. Still, I said the wrong things and I screwed things up. I took the blame but you kept showing your dissatisfaction towards me.

"What have you done to save this relationship?"

"By taking a step backwards and putting blames on me. You know I would argue with you in the past. I would. Most importantly, I apologized for all the wrongdoings. If my actions 2 months ago still didn't convince you of my feelings, then I don't know what else to do."

At this moment, saying I'm okay is a lot more easier than explaining all the reasons why I'm not.

You once said that my eyes are one of the reasons why you fell in love with me but sadly, they aren't as beautiful as they were back then anymore. It wasn't easy to forget about you, and if you didn't mean what you said, please at least make those eyes smile for others.

Ajmal Perfumes. 60 Years of Crafting Memories.

I think it's almost one year since I paid a visit to Pavilion. When I was still studying in Setapak, my friends and I could walk around Pavilion-KLCC-Lot 10-Lowyat-Sg Wang-Berjaya Times Square for the whole day just for the sake of shopping (window shopping for me). Ever since I graduated, I hardly go to that area anymore because there aren't any stuffs which suit me in those shopping malls. Yesterday was a different story, I went to Pavilion for the premiere screening of Never Say Never (featuring Justin Biebier) and everything else was pretty much the same except for the fact that there were more Malay teenagers/youngsters hanging around the place.

Since I was at Pavilion, I took the opportunity to go to Ajmal to finish up the vouchers I won some time ago. My friend won the same vouchers too so we both had a total of RM300 to spend. Well, if you think RM300 may not be enough to purchase one bottle of perfume, then you're wrong. As a matter of fact, we walked out from the shop happily with 3 bottles of perfumes.

We went in, showed our vouchers and this male staff immediately showed us some of the samples. Great customer service I would say! I found my choice of perfume within 15 minutes and it was Sacrifice for Her that I've had my eyes on. Friend found his too and similarly, he chose Sacrifice for Him. These 2 bottles (they are the ones at the bottom left corner in the picture below) cost us RM190 (RM95 each) only.

With the purchase of 2 perfumes, we only had RM110 left. What to buy now? We were then introduced to a series of pre-mixed perfumes; each of them has a different combination of compounds and of course, resulting in different smells.

I didn't like any of those pre-mixed perfumes, so I opted to create my own perfume! Yes you've heard it right, Ajmal allows the consumers to create a personalized fragrance in line with their taste and preferences. By introducing the "My Inspiration" concept, the consumers can choose from an array of ingredients that represent various fragrance and families such as floral, woody, fruity and musky. These ingredients are mixed together in varying dosages, depending on the likes of the consumers, to present a whole composition.

What you do is, you pick your choice of pure perfumes and the staff will mix them for you in an appropriate dosage. My knowledge in this field is really little so I had no idea what types would produce a nice smell so the staff actually mixed the choices I had so I could roughly know how my final product would smell like. But if you don't want your perfume to go wrong, perhaps you can follow the suggested guidelines at the store. Anyways, I picked Vanilla, Strawberry and Lavender and at the first smell, my personalized perfume smelled like an ice cream. FYI, I'm supposed to keep my perfume for at least 24- 48 hours before usage to ensure a proper mixing of all ingredients. Price? RM100 for one small bottle.

Of course, it also aims to educate the audience on how to capture good photos based on these 5 topics: White Balance, Fill Light, Motion/Action Capturing, Low Light and Depth Of Field.

I've watched this video a few times and it definitely brings back memories - that I used to play basketball in primary school (and yet I'm still so short!), and the days where I brought my cameras out for events.

I first came across this website, Cinema Online, when my friend told me that I could get the showtimes for a certain movie at TGV Wangsa Walk Mall in Setapak when the cinema was newly launched. Since then, I've been checking out the website for news, previews, reviews, trailers, forum, ticket reservations and most of all, contests.

I Am Number Four. I Am Next.

As usual, watched the trailer of this movie it definitely caught my attention!

If you haven't, please watch this trailer below carefully before you read on.

In the beginning they were a group of nine. Nine aliens who left their home planet of Lorien when it fell under attack by the evil Mogadorian. Nine aliens who scattered on Earth. Nine aliens who look like ordinary teenagers living ordinary lives, but who have extraordinary, paranormal skills. Nine aliens who might be sitting next to you now.

The Nine had to separate and go into hiding. The Mogadorian caught Number One in Malaysia, Number Two in England, and Number Three in Kenya. All of them were killed. John Smith, of Paradise, Ohio, is Number Four. He knows that he is next (source).

But hmm, I was expecting to see how the first three are killed because the trailer contains some of the scenes. So you could say that I was disappointed when the movie only shows how #3 is killed :(

Okay, so by just watching the trailer, all I could tell is that, the lead character , John Smith (played by Alex Pettyfer) is #4 while there's another girl who is #6. Where is #5? He/she can't be dead yet as long as John is alive because apparently, the Mogadorians are hunting down nine children in numerical order so that the nine of them won't be utilizing their super powers to stop the Mogs’ attempt take over the Earth.

I can haz torchlight on my hands!

I predicted the storyline wrongly though. Here's why:

1. I thought the geek in movie (Sam) was #5.

2. Even if Sam wasn't #5, I thought Sarah was (just that she didn't want to reveal her real identity until the right time).

3. John obviously didn't know how to control his powers. Why didn't his protector teach him how or at least tell him why he was being hunted by the Mogs?

4. I really thought the dog was some kind of spy working for the Mogs from the beginning.

All in all, what can I say about this movie?

Girls & Make Ups

I think my life revolves around my work now. It's not that I don't want to blog, but it's always either the topic I want to talk about is related to my work, or they are all negative issues. People want to read about happy stuffs don't they?

As usual, I've got tonnes of things to talk about my work but I really can't blog about them here. Anyways, yesterday was the annual dinner for my company and it was held at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort. It was also the 2nd/3rd time I drove home alone at late night :(

Okay, so what I really wanna talk about in this post is... girls and make up.

Is it necessary for girls to put on make ups?

I don't put on make up when I go out, not even on special occasions like the dinner yesterday. More like, I don't own a make up set and I don't know how to make up :p It's pretty sad to tell you that in my 22 years of life, I've only put on make up thrice; once was at some party, another was for my university prom and the latest was during the Clinique Star Tour 2010.

There's this saying in Chinese "世界上没有丑女人, 只有懒惰的女人", which means there isn't any ugly women in the world, but only those who are lazy. Agree?

The above statement may be true, but I believe showing your true self in public is the best. I mean, I've personally come across meeting many pretty girls when I attended events/parties and sometimes I secretly wished that I would look like them. Which girl doesn't want to be the center of attraction of guys eh? But, there were also certain occasions where I had the opportunity to meet them when they had no make ups on and they looked totally different than before (read = uglier). I don't know, it's like when you meet a pretty girl for the first time, and you'll have this impression that she's always pretty then all of a sudden, bang! you might totally change your mind about her when you've seen her without any make ups. I've felt this way from a girl's perspective and I'm sure that the guys will feel the same especially if the guys have had crushes on the girls, rigghhhht?

Also, I do think that when you put on make up, you'll eventually develop the habit of putting on make up every time you go out. I think my face condition is bad enough already and I just don't want to clog up the pores by applying any powders etc when I know that I might not have the time or energy to remove them properly when I'm dead tired.

So yesterday, everyone were in their best state with make ups and all but as usual, I think I was the only girl without make up. I felt weird at first because everyone was looking so gorgeous and all and I was just dressed in a white plain dress with no make up. Peer pressure definitely kicked in and I was tempted to ask someone to simply put on some simple make up for me at one point :( But at the end of the day, I was glad I didn't because by the time I arrived home, I just had to shower and wash my face then jumped onto my bed while other girls might probably spend longer time removing make up. Hehe.

I also believe... if a guy loves you for who you are in your most natural state, he truly loves you.

Here's the thing. I ~~hate~~ dislike cats.

I'm fine with cats, but I absolutely dislike them walking past my legs with their tails wagging around! Damn geli okay.

Witnessed one cat being showered the other day and the cat looked like she (I think it's a she?) almost died in the bathroom. The "meow" sound she made was loud enough for me to hear in a different room. FYI, the poor cat had quite a big patch of stain on its body so that's why it needed a shower.

Then again, kittens are cute! Doesn't matter if they are real kittens, or mini keychains!

Oh, if you looked carefully at the background, my Gmail theme is also cat related. Hee.

So I named this keychain Meow Meow because its colour resembles the stray cat in my sister's condo area (she calls that cat Meow Meow cat).

Samsung Galaxy 5 Review

Thanks to Rebecca from Advertlets and Samsung, I’ve got the opportunity to review the Samsung Galaxy 5 for a week. The overall experience was great and here’s what I think about the phone. Do take note that I’ve only got a week to use the phone so all opinions written here are based on my limited experience with it.

Design

Priced at RM699, Samsung Galaxy 5 is probably the cheapest well known Android phone in the market. My first impression for the phone was that it weighs really light, and the plastic casing makes it looks like it could split into pieces if one dropped it onto the floor. Also, fingerprints are very easily to be attracted onto the back casing as it has a glossy surface, which I don’t like it because I don’t want my phone to look like it hasn’t been cleaned for a long period.

As you can see from the picture above, those are the control buttons for volume which also serves as the zooming function for the camera, as well as the micro USB port. A 3.5mm audio jack is found on the phone too. Hidden from the outer view, a micro SD slot can be seen when the back panel is removed. I personally find this slightly less user friendly as it does not allow users to insert/remove micro SD card without taking off the cover.

There are a total of 7 buttons on the phone; Menu, Home, Back, Search, Call, Touch Pad, and the End Call/Sleep button. I find them rather confusing throughout the review period because I often mistook the End Call/Sleep button as Back button.

App Stores

One of the pros of getting an Android phone is the availability of applications to be downloaded. Besides the Android Market, Samsung Galaxy 5 offers you the Samsung App Store too, which will only work if a SIM card is inserted into the phone.

I’ve browsed through the Android Market and some of the apps can be downloaded are listed as below.

Games: Jewels, Bonsai Blast, Maze Runner, Angry Birds, Paper Toss etc.
Books and reference: Google Sky Map, Urban Dictionary, Periodic Table etc.
Business: Documents To Go, Call & SMS Filter, OfficeSuite Pro, Quick Task etc
Communication: Yahoo! Mail, Handcent SMS, Opera Mini Web Browser etc.
Comics: e-book/Manga reader, Naver Webtoons, jjComics Viewer, Manga Broswer etc.
Entertainment: Talking Tom Cat Free, Zedge Ringtones & Wallpapers etc.
Social: Facebook for Android, Twitter, Bump, PingChat!, Foursquare etc.
Productivity: Advanced Task Killer, Compass, Dropbox, ColourNote Notepad Notes etc.
Medical: First aid guide, Medscape, Human Body Facts, I.V Drug Handbook etc.
News & Magazines: BBC News, FOX News, CNN, World Newspaper etc.
Music & Audio: Shazam, Music Junk, xPiano, SoundHound etc.
Photography: PicSay, Retro Camera, AnDrawing!, Photo Illusion, QuickPic etc.
Health & Fitness: Calorie Counter, RunKeeper Pro, Cardio Trainer, Recipe Search etc.

Shouldn’t be too hard for you to guess which apps I’ve downloaded! :p

Message Composing

Samsung Galaxy 5 has a QWERTY keypad for both portrait and landscape mode and numbers and symbols can be inputted without switching to a different keypad.

Another great feature of this phone is the SWYPE feature. I learnt about this feature when Samsung Galaxy S was released in Malaysia - SWYPE is the fastest way to compose messages on a touch screen keypad by just tracing your finger over the letters and letting the phone predicts your word for you.

Believe it or not but I dislike this SWYPE feature. I think it’s just me because sometimes I can’t tell where the letters are on the keyboard :( If you think that I would be composing a message at a very slow speed then you're wrong. This is because by turning on the word prediction function, I can still compose a message relatively fast even without the SWYPE feature. For example, for the word “eating”, I just have to type “eati” and a list of words will be shown for me to choose from. Different individuals have different preferences of composing messages but SWYPE is not meant for me.

Camera

The phone comes with a 2MP camera, with no autofocus. Quality of photos is acceptable and they can be immediately shared via Facebook, Bluetooth, AllShare etc, Extra points for that! Installed one photography application called Retro Camera, which consists of 5 different types; namely Fudge Camera, Pinhole Camera, Xolaroid 2000, The Little Orange Box and The Barbl. Examples of shots taken using the application are shown as below.

Performance

Samsung Galaxy 5 is powered by a 667MHz processor and runs on Android 2.1 (upgradeable to 2.2). Despite this, the phone didn’t seem to lag even though I’ve got a few applications running on the background.

There’s one thing about the phone which I find it very annoying is that one has to hard reset the phone if he/she wished to switch from 1 Google account to another. I’ve encountered this problem and the suggestions from online forums (Go to: Settings ->Applications -> Manage Applications -> Google Apps -> Clear data) didn’t help at all too because I couldn’t find the option of “Google Apps”. In the end, I had to hard reset and re-downloaded all the applications again.

I would have waited and looked for other alternatives if I had a longer duration to review the phone but unfortunately I didn’t, hence the decision to hard reset it. Would love to know if anyone of you out there who has encountered similar problems on the same phone and found a better solution to this problem, comment section is all yours!

Conclusion

All in all, I would agree that Samsung Galaxy 5 is perfect for those who are unfamiliar with Android phones. I definitely enjoyed using the phone because I got to check my mails, read/check tweets in a much more convenient way, chat on Gtalk whenever wherever I am! Still, if I were to get myself an Android phone, I would get a phone with better specifications.

Are You Fast Enough?

I've got the opportunity to watch this new show by the "tooth fairy" yesterday and I absolutely enjoyed it from beginning till the end. Frankly, I'm pretty annoyed when I'm told to do certain things faster ._. but on the other hand, this movie indirectly tells the audience that if you're not fast enough, you die. Faster, is the movie and it will be shown in cinema on 13th January 11.

Genre: Action

A stint in prison usually has one of two effects on a man – it either breaks him down or makes him stronger. For Driver (Dwayne Johnson), a 10-year sentence proved the latter. His strength was not just fueled by time, but also by a hunger to avenge the murder of his brother during the botched bank robbery that led to his own imprisonment. Untouchable on the 'inside', he made plenty of enemies in prison. On the day of his release, he is hell-bent on reaping vengeance upon the four men responsible for his brother's murder. With a list of names and addresses in hand, he sprints out of the prison gates and is immediately on his mission. However, with 2 other men - Cop (Billy Bob Thornton) and Killer (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) are tracking him down for their own purposes, the hunter is now also the hunted.

Action-packed throughout the whole movie and the storyline isn't draggy. There's one part which I don't understand though. #Spoiler alert! What does the tattoo on Driver's arm mean? Anyone wanna enlighten me? Apparently it's powerful enough to make any enemies retreat. Hmm.

Expect the unexpected.

New Collection - Nike AW77 Hoodie!

Confession: I'm a fan of hoodies. Be it jackets, cardigans, sweaters or normal tees; as long as they have hood, I'll have my eyes on them.

Even though I like hoodies but I've never bought them in my life before (as in, use my own money and buy). Including a blue sweater, my aunt was the one who bought them. First hoodie was from Giordano - a white one; second was a grey hoodie from Debenhams and I just got my third one yesterday! The limited edition Nike AW77, thanks to Jason Goh and NikeMY.

I seldom wear the white one out because..... it's white in colour and it gets dirty very easily. Plus, I can't fold up the sleeves at all. I guess I really liked white back then :| And now, I'm wearing the grey hoodie and blue sweater in office on alternate weeks. Very comfortable!

As for the Nike hoodie, it's thicker than I thought and it's catered for sports (hmmm?). Would anyone be interested in buying it? Heee.

Itchiness Kills

For the past one week I've been complaining that there are rashes all over my body and the worse part is that, they spread to every area that I scratch. The itchiness is intolerable and it's on and off throughout the day but somehow I managed to stand it for one whole week until today.

If you ever wondered why haven't I seen a doctor before this, that's because I thought it's normal as sometimes I would encounter the same problem after being exposed to the sunlight for a prolonged period.

As usual, I started to feel the itchiness when I had lunch with Jess today. I thought maybe it was the sunlight that caused it. Scratched a little and red patches appeared. Condition got worse when I got back to my office that I started scratching my back, neck and both arms. Thank god I wore jeans otherwise I would be scratching my legs too.

It was so damn itchy can die dot com that I almost cried so I wasted no time to pay a visit to the doctor.

It didn't take long for the doctor to diagnose me with urticaria, also known as hives.

"Are you overstressed?"

"Erm, no."

"Are you allergic to any food? Did you consume them recently?"

"....."

Funny how she asked me whether I'm overstressed instead of allergic to anything first. Hmm. Well, I wanted to say yes at first. Came home and I've been thinking what's the exact cause of me getting hives and tada! I think I've found the culprit.

Earring that I bought from SS2 night market. Well the vendor claimed that it's 926 silver. Like duh, any dumb blondes should have known those earrings are NOT genuine silver but of course I didn't argue with the vendor directly (but I did mention it loud enough for him hear when I whispered to my friend, "Sure fake one lahhh, 926 kononnya!!"). Still, I bought the pair of butterfly earring because I thought they looked really pretty.

Then the nightmare began. I could feel that my ear was rejecting the earring because it began to itch, swell and bleed :( Wasted no time in removing the butterfly earring and replaced it with the genuine white gold Scorpio earring that my sister gave me. Believe it or not, itchiness at my ear stopped the day after but at the same time, itchiness and rashes developed at the other parts of my body =.="

I've got one medical bill each month that I think the company's assistant treasurer gets fed up of seeing me submitting claim form to her. Oh wells.

PS: One earring in the picture because I only have my right ear pierced. The hole on my left ear closed due to allergy reactions and I'm too chicken to have it pierced again for the THIRD time. Sighs. Looks like I'm destined to wear genuine silver/white gold earring after this incident. Ugh.

The Social Network & Rapunzel: A Tangled Tale

Watched Rapunzel: A Tangled Tale in 3D and it was so good that I wanted to re-watch it again. Anyone? The chameleon's role in this cartoon is really cute and not to mention the horse's dog-like actions make it even more lively and hilarious! Thank you Audrey for the tickets!

Also, watch The Social Network 2 weeks before its official release date in MY courtesy of SCMKL. No action scenes, not hot chicks, just dialogues which tells the origin of Facebook, but surprisingly it was better than I expected.

I didn't like Justin Timberlake before this. After watching this movie, I think I dislike him more because his role in this movie is an asshole. Okay, his role in the movie might not justify who he is in real life but when you already have bad impression on a certain someone, your impression towards him will not become better either even though he's the good guy. Get the drift right?

But! I do think Mark's more handsome in the movie than he is in real life. Hehe.

Movie Nite With Magnum4D in 3D!

I was one of the lucky ones to secure passes to watch The Other Guys organized by Magnum4D. That's not all, there were also free drinks and popcorns! :) This time, Magnum4D is back in action again! On the 16th of December, there will be another screening for Tron Legacy in 3D! Are you excited as I am?

Kudos to Magnum4D for organizing such contests which will be able to bring the social media community together, hence allowing us to meet new people through events. My suggestion to Magnum4D would be, try to organize some trips to visit orphanage/old folks home. Well, we all know what Magnum4D does right? Even if we don't win in our purchase(s), it would be good if we can do some charity work to those who are in need. Not everyone is born perfectly, and for every minute that we're enjoying ourselves at shopping malls, there are people who die of hunger in the World.

Another suggestion would be, instead of movie screenings, how about stand up comedy shows? I think not many Malaysians are in favour of these kind of shows, perhaps it's due to the lack of exposures to public. There are many great talents outside waiting for us to discover them, and most importantly, to appreciate their determination in pursuing their dreams and efforts contributed.

So, what say you, Magnum4D?

Peter Pan The Musical

Received an email regarding Peter Pan The Musical from AMBP and I knew that I had to make it, by hook or by crook.

I still remembered watching a movie called Hook when I was young, and whatever information I've gotten from it are pretty much what I know about Peter Pan or Captain Hook or Tinkerbell. Sad isn't it? :(

From the website, it says that Peter Pan the Musical is the very first theatrical production organised by Sunway Lagoon. Produced and choreographed by talents hailing from London’s famous West End theatre district, this musical tells the well-known and affectionate story of a boy who would just never grow up. The iridescent display of song and dance will take place twice daily and three times on Fridays and Saturdays.

First of all, I apologize for the ugly drawing posted above :| But hey, I personally think it looks okay since it's done within 10 minutes (including some editing). If you can tell the creature in the picture is a domokun, then I would say my drawing doesn't really suck, hmm.

I'm not fine. Not at all. And I don't know what's wrong. I used to wake up every morning with a smile on my face but nowadays it's the opposite. There are also times I wish I could just die in my sleep. Like I said, I don't know what's the cause of me feeling so down lately, perhaps I've been keeping things to myself for quite some time and now they're all coming back to me at once. I don't enjoy what I'm doing now; the passion is becoming lesser and lesser and eventually replaced by disappointment and frustration. Yeah, I could have just bid goodbye to my job (trust me, I've had this intention popping up in my mind halfway through my tasks almost everyday), but I'm still sane enough to think rationally that if I had done that, I'd be so screwed. I've been told several stories on how mean/evil/bossy their bosses are, and thank god, mine is an angel compared to them. So I guess, I've gotta find my mojo back as soon as possible.

To be completely honest with you, I've always been jealous with friends who get to further their studies or go on a vacation overseas. "How come I don't get to go travel like they do?" - I never understood this until I've started working. Money doesn't grow on trees and they definitely are hard to be earned. Bottomline is, I'm really thankful that my parents supported me for my studies all these years. Thanks dad, thanks mom. Raising a kid is definitely tough, but you two sure did a great job.

Speaking of this, I'm also pretty much annoyed by how my grandma always compares my cousin brother and I. Always. Yeah.... we all know that he gets to go to the States and I didn't, he earns more than I do now, but come on! What is the point you're trying to prove? =.=" If he's that smart and much more capable than I am, he should be working in the States now instead of MY *rolls eyes* And I wonder if he pays for his lodging + insurance + internet + miscellaneous. So yeah, when I have enough savings, I'm gonna go travel. I don't care where and how, but I'm definitely going. Sucks to die before you get to see the world you know?

Someone calls me a crybaby. I am. Crying is one of the many ways I express myself. And when I do cry in front of you next time, all I'm asking for is you to hug me and whisper into my ears, "you'll be fine".

Yumeiro Patissiere Professional

Opening theme: Sweet Romance by Mayumi Gojo

Ending theme: Home Made Happy by Primavera

This is a sequel to the first season - Yumeiro Patissiere in which the last episode shows that Team Ichigo (comprises of Ichigo herself, Kashino, Andoh, and Hanabusa) won the World Cake Grand Prix final and hence they won themselves an opportunity to study in the main campus of St. Marie Academy in Paris. 2 years later, they return to Japan, but things are no longer the same for everyone (perhaps Ichigo is excluded as she still eats way too many sweets and constantly falls down). Did I mention that Hanabusa has long hair in the new season?

Team Ichigo doesn't exist anymore - Kashino, whose has always been a top scorer in Paris is allowed to skip a year (and now in the same class as Miya Koshiro) and thus is a year ahead of Ichigo while Hanabusa and Andoh have left St. Marie Academy to pursue their own pastry dreams. Ichigo has new team members and one of them is Johnny McBeal, who also has his own Sweet Spirit name Maize. A surprise came in when Henri Lucas suddenly appears in Japan and invites Ichigo to a special meeting. There, along with Kashino, Lemon and Johnny, he tells the four of them that he wants them to oversee a sweets shop in a new shopping village called Marie's Garden that he has built in Japan. This new season of anime also portrays the relationship between Ichigo and Kashino that they both like each other.

Psychic Detective Yakumo (心灵探侦八雲 Shinrei Tantei Yakumo)

This story tells the audience that Yakumo Saitou, a university student, is born with 2 different eye colours. His left eye which is red in colour enables him to see ghosts and spirits. On the other hand, the female lead character, Haruka Ozawa makes her first appearance in Episode 1 when she seeks for Yakumo's help in order to help her to solve a case. Since then, she is always throughout the series; sometimes she herself as the victim or her friends are. Also, she wears the same outfit in each episode (Oh gosh!)

This anime is actually similar to the English series called Ghost Whisperer. There are only 7 episodes so far for this anime series but I would say it's worth watching if you like crime solving shows. As the title says, it revolves around Yakumo solving problems (finding out murderers by communicating with souls which can't crossover etc) along with Haruko and a police named Detective Gatou. I can tell that the plot has thickened as the story moves along and Yakumo's background is also revealed bits by bits - his mother tried to murder him when he was young. An antagonist is also shown, and this person appears to be Yakumo's dad who also possesses red eyes - not one, but both.

Letter Bee Reverse

When Season 1 ended, I knew immediately that there would be a sequel for it because the story ended by portraying that Gauche (Lag Seeing's one and only idol) is still alive. Indeed, in the new season, Gauche has been found by Lag but sadly, he has no memories of being Gauche at all. With that said, he doesn't remember him being a letter bee before. Now, Gauche is known as Noir and he now works for marauders who steal valuable items from people, letters included.

Lag is of course depressed and upset when he can't bring Gauche back as he has promised his sister. He is still the crybaby as before. As for Niche, she thinks that she fails as Lag's dingo because she can't protect him for the very first time. For once I thought Lag is going to lose her forever when Niche chooses to run away from home when she can't deal with the fact that she lost in a battle with Noir's dingo and injured herself at the same time.

Still, I think the plot is slightly draggy. It could be ended in just one season if the producers could focus on Lag's adventure in seeking Gauche more.

As promised, here's a proper update from me.

Work

I seriously don't know where to start on this. Almost everyone has been saying, if you love your job, you'll be looking forward to go to work every morning and vice versa. Trust me, it's true; because I'm now going through this whole "waking up and staring at the ceiling thinking that - oh God I have to go to work now" process every morning. I do look forward to go to the office each day and no, my job scopes are not the ones motivating me to do so. I'm that kind of person who wants to learn new things from time to time; in short, I think I'm getting bored of doing the same thing repeatedly. However, I know there are still plenty of things/experience that I can gain from the the daily tasks, only problem is, where do I find the time to explore those softwares?!

KPI, short for key performance indicator, has just successfully climbed its way up to my "Top 5 Words I Hate" list. Seriously, if you ever mentioned the word in front of me, don't blame me for giving you the killer stare. It's totally understandable if the KPI makes sense and can be achieved, but to set a KPI which, by common sense and perhaps some logical thinking, anyone would be able to tell it's difficult and impossible to be achieved while having to fill up some work calendar is probably just the best thing that one can ever wish for at work.

To think that I've come so far, I've gotta thank this particular colleague of mine who has never failed to guide me in any problems, or to use his magic ball to make a decision when he is as lost as me, and most importantly, just being there for me. Thank you :)

PS: If you haven't realized, I was being sarcastic in the last sentence of 2nd paragraph.

Gatherings

Attended a few movie screenings, namely Takers, The Other Guys etc and all were good, except for this boring movie called The American. Secured passes for The Social Network and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader as well! Speaking of which, I've got some limited edition merchandise which are lying around in my room 'cos I haven't found a chance to use them yet! :(

Also, I haven't got the time to yumcha and catch up with some friends. Main problem would be, everyone stays too far apart from each other and some need transport, including me. In case you didn't know, I've been driving for quite some time now, but it's really sad to say that I've never driven at night because of the poor (head)lightning of the the car. My eyes are already tired from staring at the monitor 9 hours at work and I obviously can't pay 100% of attention on the road by then.

Miscellaneous

I've come cross blog entries/tweets concerning 2 major advertising companies in KL lately. Very interesting ones. It's like, watching a never ending drama, only difference is that this is FOC and much much much more interesting than HK dramas! One recently launched some exclusive membership program, while the other is getting more and more clients (based on my observations as I've seen friends attending events one after another non stop). As the Chinese proverb says, 一山不能藏二虎，almost everyday, I would see someone complaining about Company A, then the next day, someone supporting Company B will buka meriam. That, my friends, is how "war" started. Exclusive or non exclusive, I've no interest in joining; it's not like I have the time to fully commit myself to those events *rolls eyes* Don't even get me started on the criteria of selection of members who are eligible for the program.

The Day I Became A Kid Again

The very same weekend when I had a really "wonderful" Friday, I bought this packet of sand art at Borders, Tropicana City Mall. I just wanted to become a kid again. Heh. I think, I've only done this whole sand art thingy once, and this was the second time.

Upon reaching sis's place, I began my colouring work, sand art colouring that is! Nothing much to elaborate on the processes I suppose, just removed the stickers part by part, and poured the coloured sands on top.

Tada~~! The end product.

Took me about an hour to complete the whole thing. I wouldn't say it's easy as I had to make sure all the different coloured sands didn't interfere with each other, and also to create the whole wave transition in the background. Ok fine, I suck at arts :( But it's no harm to lie to me telling me it's pretty so I can be happy okay? *pouts*

Well, another reason why I bought this sand art is that because it is capable of glowing in the dark!!! Or at least I thought so in the beginning. It did glow in the dark, but just didn't give one the "oomph" effects.

Here's a confession: I've never eaten lam mee before. Heck, I didn't even know such food exists until I moved to Genting Klang for my studies three years ago :\

So anyways, the bully and I visited the Lammeeya outlet at OU not long ago because he wanted to have noodles for dinner. It wasn't our first visit there, but I've never bothered to take any pictures of the food until that day.

The menu comes with pictures of each dish that is available there. Extra point for that because the customers get to have an idea of what they'll be ordering beforehand. Despite the name of the shop, Lammeeya sells other types of dishes as well - Chicken Kuey Teow Soup, Mee Rebus, Dry Chicken Kuey Teow, Dry Curry Mee, different types of Chee Cheong Funs. Price ranges from RM7.80 to RM13.80, inclusive of a cup of fresh ground soya milk and a plate of side dish (2 meatballs + fried foo chuk)

Priced at RM3.30, ala carte. Pricey!

Note: It's actually quite a small cup but due to the angle when I took this picture, it looked quite big. LOL!

The bully had his lam yee mee while I ordered nyonya curry mee set. I've only tasted one spoonful of his mee and it seemed pretty okay to me. You see, till now I still don't know why people add vinegar into their lam mee. This combination is just plain weird if you asked me. If I wanted to have something sour, I could go for asam laksa etc, no?

When I first saw my nyonya curry mee set, I was like "Okay, this shouldn't taste too bad". But hmmm.... towards the end of my meal, I was beginning to dislike my order due to its soup, not because it was spicy (I can't really take spicy stuffs so this is considered spicy to me k? For others maybe it's just kacang-kacang putih) but because it was too powdery! Other than that, I was satisfied with the ingredients that were included :)

I've tasted the other types of noodles during my previous visits to Lammeeya and my friends and I came out from the restaurant happily. IMO it's better to order to the set because by paying just for the noodles (cheapest would be around RM8?) and the drink (let's assume you order soya milk which is the cheapest drink available there if I'm not mistaken), that would have cost you about RM11+ already. So might as well go for the set, which includes the side dish. Of course, it's all depending on how you want to place your orders to come out with a lowest price of bill.

Yes you heard it from me, and I'm sure you heard it from someone else recently, or maybe you yourself have made the remark stated above.

Long story short, I was feeling really shitty after work last Friday so I decided to pamper myself with some ice creams.

If you didn't know, Geláre is an Italian word that means "to freeze" or "congeal" and this ice cream originates from Italy. According to the website, although Geláre appears to be more expensive than other types of ice creams, it is actually not. A half litre of Geláre weighs more than a litre of most other ice creams. In fact, Geláre is actually less expensive than many other lower quality brands by weight, and they are much better in terms of quality.

Geláre ice creams sold at the outlet can be divided into 3 different types; Super Premium Ice Cream, Low Fat Frozen Yogurts and Sorbets.

Some of the flavours for each type of ice cream:

~ Super Premium Ice Cream: Macadamia Nut, Rum 'N Raisin, Green Tea.

~ Low Fat Frozen Yogurts: Strawberry Cheesecake, Oregon Hazelnut.

~ Sorbets: Mango, Raspberry.

But of course, if you don't feel like having ice creams, you can opt for the muffins/pies/cakes that are available too. Oh, even sandwiches!

The bully and I shared the 3 Scoops Basket Delight Sunday. Choices of ice creams were Vanilla Bean, Swiss Chocolate Caramel and Honey Malt Crunch. Well, it didn't really meet my expectations - chocolate flavoured ice cream was not chocolaty enough while the others 2 were so so. Didn't know the staff would put whipped cream on top of my ice cream otherwise I would have declined.

I don't like whipped cream, 'nuff said.

What's up?

I'm home on a Saturday night when most people I know are enjoying themselves at Hennessy Artistry happening at Mist Club now. Frankly speaking, I never really enjoyed myself at both HA events, maybe because I don't drink and I'm not really into those DJs sort of music =|

#1 Saw my friend got tagged by online shopping boutiques on Facebook and the mistake I made was to click on the picture because I ended up browsing almost all the photo albums of shoes the blogshop has. People say online shopping is addictive, but I beg to differ; online browsing item catalogs is even more addictive!

Got my eyes on this! Someone get this for me? *coughssize6coughs*

#2 My convocation took place almost a month ago. Nothing special to elaborate on that except that I am officially no longer a student :( To Jeffro, Aaron, Jackie, Samantha, Alex - thank you for coming! Your presence on that day meant a lot to me *hugs*

#3 More and more university mates are flying to New Zealand for holidaying-working trip ever since Piang made his way there after semester ended. I wish I could do that too but knowing that my parents aren't gonna pay for the expenses so I'm gonna save up by working first. Money is everything in this case >_<"

#4 Witnessed break-ups but also received a few good news of friends getting married/got together. Life is unpredictable, 'nuff said.

Just got back from the night market in SS2. I forgot how much fun one could have just by visiting the pasar malam, purchasing and eating the junk food bought from vendors on the spot. For a person like me who has been exposed to only Malay style of night market, visiting the Chinese style one in SS2 was indeed a new and fun experience to me; and ohmaigawd the varieties of food they had there made my jaws dropped. The downside of this visit - came back with a few tyres. Mehhh.

Anyways, this entry is on pies! Australian pies :) Spotted this new shop in SS2 and the bully and I decided to try out the pie as there's a 50% discount on all pies (valid for dine-in only).

The interior of the shop looks a bit old school. No fancy decorations and the tables/chairs reminded me of those HK coffee shops we usually see in drama series.

Ordered one chicken mushroom pie (RM9) and one Chocolate Ramble (RM7.90). They have other choices of pies as well - chunky beef, chicken curry, vegetables and chunky apple.

Pie was served with black pepper sauce and one side dish - salad.

Don't like pies? Opt for pizzas (10") then! (RM10)

So one of my colleagues has this cardboard robot thingy called Danbo, in which the word comes from danboru, the Japanese word for corrugated cardboard.

This is Danbo! Pictures look blueish here because I took them in the office using my phone :(

Googled for more pictures of danbo and I came across this site. The pictures there totally blew me off. Danbo is so cute can die. But hey, I still love my domo!

A big thank you to Joshua Ong for giving me the passes to JJ Lin showcase. Although it was quite last minute but I decided to go with the bully. Will keep this post really short by posting up pictures and videos taken/recorded that night.

Opening act artist was Will Ng 黄威尔. He's well known for the song 爱与不爱.

Finally, JJ Lin showed up. Pictures below were taken by the bully using Jackie's friend's gears. And oh, the quality of videos are kinda bad (motions) - can't blame me aight as I was standing far away from stage. But thanks to the 3x zoom function on my compact camera, I was able to record.

Does anyone remember Happy Feet? I enjoyed the movie alot and I'm sure most people did too.

In a few days' time, another movie brought to you by the director of "300" and the producers of "Happy Feet", which is Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole will be showing in cinemas and you shouldn't miss it this time.

Yup, snowy owl it is! There's probably one and only reason why I like snowy owls; because they are white in colour! Fell in love with this kind of species when I watched my first Harry Potter movie :p

Just so you know, only the males are completely white, females are white with spots on their wings while the chicks are dark and spotted (I'm sure you can differentiate which owl is male or female in the pictures above by now aight?) White signifies purity and gives a sense of tranquility.... that's why snowy owl is my pick.

Some facts about snowy owls:

#1 Average life span in the wild: 9.5 years

#2 Unlike most owls, which are nocturnal, snowy owls are diurnal - they hunt and are active both day and night

#3 Diet: Small mammals, other birds, ducks but their preferred meal is lemmings

#4 They are white in colour because their feathers have no pigment

What's Your Selangor Story?

Hello readers!

Before I begin, here's a little introduction of My Selangor Story blog competition. It is a contest spearheaded by Tourism Selangor with the objective of promoting Selangor's cultures and famous tourism spots by using online social media (blogs in this case) to travellers from all places.

Anyways, I'm required to write a post on why I should be selected as one of the 30 bloggers for the competition. Simple, I love travelling and exploring new things! Doesn't matter if I'm travelling on my own, with friends or strangers.

Travelling has always been fun and exciting to me and sometimes, challenging! Most people have this perception that girls are usually less active in joining outdoor activities but I, on the other hand, love doing what others don't. I've always been saying, life is short and we don't know when we'll die; so I guess that's why I'm so keen on trying out new stuffs when opportunities arrive.

Looking back at this picture, I wonder where I got my guts to take such a close up shot of this poisonous snake. Hmm...

If you didn't know, my hometown is Kuala Selangor. Does it ring a bell to you? Seafood, paddy field, fireflies, Bukit Melawati - I'm sure you can relate one of them to my hometown aight?

When I grew up, I spent my teenage years in Petaling Jaya/Kuala Lumpur. KLCC, One Utama, Midvalley or any other shopping malls, you name it, I've been there too. Okay, that's not the point here. My point is, although I've been to some tourism spots such as Thean Hou temple, Batu Cave, National Monument (trust me, not many locals have visited this place themselves), I honestly think I have not explored the actual tourism spots in Selangor. When I say actual, I mean places where I could interact with the locals and learn about their lifestyles and traditions while at the same time, enjoying local delicacies as well. Again, this is why I want to be selected as a contestant.

Who says one can't have fun in the cave eh? We girls surely did!

It's undeniably I gained lots of new insights and experience during my tour to Sukau, Sabah last November. It was a short trip, but the experiences and memories I've had, last forever. Here are the entries on Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3 respectively.

Again, despite the short trip in Singapore last October, I still managed to visit plenty of places and even produced my own pewter bowl at the Royal Selangor School of Hard Knocks! Made a lot of new friends as well :)

Grown Ups, Step Up and Cats & Dogs

Watched a few movies recently. Movies are good to de-stress :)

#1 Grown Ups

Genre: Comedy

Putting Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, David Spade, and Rob Schneider in one movie, the outcome is pretty much predictable. You laugh and laugh non stop. I knew I had to watch this when I saw the trailer a few months ago. I personally think it's a movie catered for family as it contains several elements on the importance of maintaining good relationships with friends/families, honesty and also, it reflects the lives of the younger generations nowadays (video games, kids being very dependent on maids etc).

Gotta love the sarcasms throughout the whole movie too!

#2 Step Up 3D

Genre: Drama, romance

Unlike the movie title, I watched it in 2D instead... but 2 days before the movie is shown in Malaysia! I can't remember the storyline of the first 2 movies, but well, we all know dance moves/choreographs are the main attraction so naturally, the third one is the same (Duh!) From the beginning of the movie till the end, you see people or crews dancing and competing with each other, with a little bit of romance going on between the main actor and actress. Plus point of this movie is, it also tells the audience about dance shoes and erm, the art of filming? I love the final dance battle; LED on shirts! Thinking of watching it in 3D again. Hehe.

#3 Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore

Genre: Family, action, comedy

Watched this movie yesterday courtesy of Advertlets with a bunch of bloggers. Did I enjoy watching cats and dogs talking and fighting? Yes and no. Yes because some of the dialogues are funny, no because some animations seem to be really fake. The bad cat looks extremely ugly too =| Overall, this is similar to James Bond movies - the music, the gadgets, the fightings, except that dogs and cats are the heroes and heroins. I won't recommend you to watch in 3D though.

One Chef, Jaya One

It is said that one shouldn't have any problems in finding a perfect place to dine in at Jaya One as there are different kinds of food, and the prices vary accordingly to the environment. However, that was not the case when the bully and I went there for our dinner on Saturday's night; took us approximately half an hour to settle down at a restaurant called One Chef.

At the very first glance, I thought the restaurant must have been really lousy because only one table was occupied. If you compared it to the other restaurants such as Brussels Beer Cafe and The Bee which are almost fully occupied during dinner time, then you know what I mean (or perhaps PJ residents are super rich?). Anyways, checked out the menu displayed in front and so we got attracted by the food they offer.

One Chef has a rather unique menu, you should see how they categorize the food and the label they put. For example: drinks section is called 饮水思源 (Refreshing Remedies for the Thirsty Traveller), snacks section is 拈花惹草篇 (Time Out Snack & Relax), and others like 猪光宝气 (Pork Lover's Delight) and 海空大战 (Fish Fanatics & Poultry Passion).

Not forgetting to mention they have this swing-like chair at one corner! *likes*

Both of us order the set meal which included 3 side dishes and a bowl of soup. The soup they had that day was some herbal soup - very flavourful and definitely reminded me of home-cooked soup. Both sets tasted awesome despite that they were spicy, nevertheless, the level of spiciness was still acceptable to me. Hmm, the only downside - the portion of rice was too little. Then again, with the meat + side dishes + soup, I was full before I could finish my meal.

Kittens Or Puppies?

I don't own any pets, and will never own one in the future because I don't think I have the time to take good care of it. Not only time, but raising a pet requires a great deal of money, patience and determination. So, to all pet owners out there, you have my respect :)

BUT! If some day I changed my mind and decided to keep a pet, I would opt for a kitten. Dogs will first be crossed out from my list of options because I'm afraid of dogs. Reason being is that I was once chased by a stray dog at the back alley of my grandparents' house, and the 'God of Suayness" was on my side that I fell down and lost one minor piece of my flesh on my knee. The sight of the wound was just like Pacman and trust me, it definitely left me traumatized and caused me to hold grudges against dogs until today.

Puppies, well, they are going to become dogs one day. So, it's a no to them as well. Now, here is the main reason why I would want a kitten. All thanks to this Japanese anime - Chi's Sweet Home.

Chi's sweet home is about a kitten who got separated from her mom and somehow she got adopted by a boy named Youhei and his family. The rest of the story, you have to watch for yourself.

Chi's expressions in this anime is super duper adorable and cute and will make one go "awwww". Check out some of her expressions below (source).

Damn kawaii can die. I usually watch 5/6 episodes of Chi's sweet home after work because it makes me forget about all the tiredness etc from work. And so, you must watch this video embedded below! ~ Work: Started on real cases, which means whatever I design will be applied in surgeries. Stressed. Stayed in office till 8.30pm on Friday and I foresee more to come.

~ Gatherings: Currently the guys are planning a 7balls reunion. Hopefully it'll work out since I haven't met them after May. So much to update each other.

~ Events: Less active recently due to work. I even missed out Urbanscapes this year.

~ Driving skills: Hmm. Should be okay by now. But I think I'm still a chicken on the road.

Conclusion: I need a vacation.

On a different note, I stumbled upon this site by Antoinette-Fleur and I was totally blown away by her masterpiece. Detailed, lively and colourful artwork! I don't know about you but I could browse through her folio over and over again as I find them giving me a sense of tranquility (which I just did in the office on Friday because I was feeling rather upset).

Finally I get to blog in peace! That is, without having to check the replies on my FB status (just in case I've missed out some important news regarding the online survey that all graduands are supposed to complete before collecting our convocation attire) and sending email to the alumni department while checking the latest tweets from time to time.

Seriously, this whole completing survey requirement has been bothering me for quite some time because there isn't any news on both the surveys even though the information handbook (not very informative actually =.=") states that we can complete them off campus.

Enough rantings. This post is supposed to be on Bak Kut Teh (肉骨茶)!

I usually settle my meals outside during weekends so that there wouldn't be any unnecessary problems at home. It's okay if you don't get what I mean because most people don't unless I've told them why. Oh, this also means, you're always welcome to invite me for lunch/dinner on weekends! Hehe :)

So anyways, the bully came to look for me for the aforementioned reason. I suggested BKT because he suggested that on the night before; but we didn't get to have it as the place was relatively far from my sister's place.

It was a rainy night so I was hoping that the stall would be open and it was! Yes, it's a stall, not a shop lot. Those who live nearby Seapark should know this BKT stall as it is located near a mamak that is apparently famous for its nasi lemak at night, just behind the row of shop houses with KFC as the corner lot shop.

It wasn't my first visit there as I've been there with my family a few years ago. Still, no matter how good my memories are, I can't remember how it tasted back then.

Found a table quickly and made our orders and stared at other customers gobbling down their food. (Jeez, did you really think I did that?) The good news, we didn't have to wait too long. Drinks were served shortly after we ordered followed by the yau char kuay, accompanied with an extra bowl of BKT soup.

Not the very best yau char kuays that I've eaten because they were soggy. Crunchy ones are the best, no? However, on second thoughts, even if these yau char kuays are soggy, that doesn't really matter too because in the end, one is going to eat them with the soup right?

The main dish of the night came after the so-called appetizers above. The soup was flavourful; and it didn't taste salty to me by gulping it down continuously, unlike some soups where I've tried at several restaurants on different occasions.

You probably can't see clearly of what were included in the clay pot due to the 3 pieces of vegetables. To summarize, the ingredients were as per standard BKT places; lean meat, fat laden meat, ribs, tofu skin, mushroom, tofu pok and some parts which I don't know the names (oopss). Just so you know, I was told by the boss that they don't include intestines when I was ordering my food. I'm not sure if that's the truth as the bully requested not to have them included, maybe the boss answered that with the motive of "gosoking kasut". If you like intestines, perhaps you can request for them during your visit (that's if the boss was telling the truth about his "no intestine" policy).

Besides that, we also ordered a plate of vegetables (油菜) which was topped with lots of fried garlic immersed in oyster sauce. I would prefer it to be served with dried shrimps (虾米) though, like the one at Ayer Panas hawker centre.

Good day folks.

Don't you agree that weekends are the best thing ever that one could ask for especially the working adults?

Anyways, working life has been okay so far. I wouldn't use words such as "great/awesome/superb" to describe how my working life is because well... I think it's still rather early for me to have any fair judgments since I haven't been working for 1 month =|

Managed to catch Despicable Me and Inception recently. Both movies were good. Despicable Me is definitely worth watching in 3D (Thanks Aaron for the movie!) and on the other hand, apparently most people whom I know had their mind fucked by Inception, in a good way, of course.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Watched this highly anticipated movie by all Twilight fans a day before its release date with the bully. It was good, mainly because there are more action scenes than the previous two.

Then again, I didn't read any of those books, and I couldn't remember the storyline of Twilight and New Moon (yes my memories are that bad unless the movies are really damn good!), so I was actually quite confused at some point throughout the movie; who is who (trust me, I still don't know the Cullens family members), and the connections between the werewolves etc.

To those who do not fancy this movie, Eclipse is still considered a good movie to be watched with your girl friends because there are plenty of eye candies in it. Teehee.

Clinique Star Tour @ Sunway Pyramid

If you have read this post, you should have known by now that the Clinique Star Tour 2010 is currently taking place at shopping malls and colleges, to name a few, Pavilion, MMU, Taylor's College and many more.

Last Saturday, I decided to head over to Sunway Pyramid whereby it was the first stop of the mobile makeover truck of this star tour. The roadshow started at 11am and I was already the 57th to register when I arrived at the venue at 12+pm! Definitely a good thing because this shows how well the responses are from the crowd.

If you didn't know, once you (girls only, sorry!) register yourself by purchasing a RM30 voucher, you're required to choose your preferred look for the photoshoot later on. Two choices: young and chic - bright colours (blue/pink/purple) and fresh and natural (more to earth tone).

I was lucky to bump into my university mate - Apple at the roadshow, and since the two of us still had quite some time to kill before it was our turn, we decided to walk around first. At least my time wasn't wasted by doing nothing other than waiting for my turn. Did I mention there are CLEO magazines around for you to read while waiting?

As the title says, I wanna be the sorcerer's apprentice, and it's not just any normal sorcerers, but Balthazar Blake!

Okay, so who's a fan of Nicholas Cage here? If you are, then be sure to catch the movie The Sorcerer’s Apprentice because he will be in it.

Why do I want to be the sorcerer's apprentice? Easy. Because I want to have magical powers; powers that others do not posses, powers which can enable me to do things beyond my limits, and most importantly, powers that can turn me from nobody to somebody.

Let's just say, one day, when I posses magical powers, the first thing I would want to do is to create a new identity for myself and go somewhere where no one recognizes me at all. Secondly, I think I would create a new magical power for everyone - to be able to transform from one place to another. Works perfectly fine and will definitely be favoured by people like me who have to beat the jam to go home after a long day at work =|
